JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, said that the job loss insurance (JKP) has been felt by many workers who have been laid off. As of March 20, 2022, the realization of the JKP benefits in the form of cash benefits has been disbursed by 191 laid-off workers, 94 self-assessments, 34 counseling people, and 58 people have applied for more than five jobs.

"JKP is a program that has actually been realized by the government and friends who have experienced layoffs have also felt the benefits of the JKP program ranging from cash benefits, job market access to job training," said Ida Fauziyah in a working meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives led by Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR Nihayatul Wafirah at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, March 21, in a ministry statement.

There are ten favorite selected training programs that the recipients of the Worker Loss Insurance program are interested in. The ten favorite programs are Graphic Design, Computer Operator, Barista, English, Tailoring Clothes, Beauty/Hairdressing, Digital Marketing, Housekeeping, Office Administration and Motorcycle Injection Service.

"These 10 programs have become the favorite choices of the recipients of the JKP program," he said. Alluding to the readiness and budget support for paying government contributions for the JKP program, Ida Fauziyah. In the February-November 2021 period, contributions of Rp823.9 billion have been paid for 100,849,059 workers.

"This is already paid for," he said.

Meanwhile, the 2022 budget plan is allocated to pay the difference in payment of the 2021 participant dues for 139,547 workers, amounting to Rp1.088 billion. The second allocation is the projected JKP contributions paid by the Central Government in 2022 (December 2021-November 2022) for 134,835,015 workers, with a total contribution of Rp. 1,131 trillion.

"So the total budget needed for the JKP program in 2022 is IDR 1.131 trillion. So the money was given by the Ministry of Finance, given to the Ministry of Manpower and then we distributed it to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan," said Ida Fauziyah.

Ida Fauziyah ensures that the government's budget support for the implementation of the JKP program has been running. Social security funds given to workers or workers who have been laid off come from the recomposition of contributions from the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Security (JKM) programs, and contributions from the government.

"Initial funds have been given by the government for this JKP program amounting to Rp. 6 trillion which was submitted directly to BPJS Employment. So this is really a program that is already running because the government provided initial funds," he said.
