AKARTA - The suspect in the online gambling case under the guise of Quotex trading, Doni Salmanan had entrusted Rp1 billion to his colleague with the initials Z in Bandung, West Java. The money was deposited long before the affiliate was arrested and named a suspect.

"Long before he was arrested (Doni left the money, ed)," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police's Public Relations Division to VOI, Monday, March 21.

However, the reason behind Doni Salmanan's deposit of the money is not yet known. It is suspected that the action was an attempt to hide the assets of the crime.

"Yes, that will come from the investigation process (reason for depositing money, ed)," he said.

The whereabouts of the money, continued Gatot, was revealed during the examination process. Doni acknowledged all assets suspected of being related to money laundering (TPPU).

"During the examination, he stated that he had entrusted it to his friend," said Gatot.

The Bareskrim Polri has confiscated a number of Doni Salmanan's assets worth Rp. 64 billion in an online gambling case. The assets range from cash, vehicles, to fashion.

Some of the assets that have been confiscated are Porsche 911 Carerra 4S, Lamborghini, and BMW. Then, there are also assets in the form of two houses in the Bandung area, West Java. Then, eight big motorcycles (MOGE) of various brands.

Investigators also confiscated Doni Salmanan's cash amounting to Rp. 3.3 billion. The money came from one of his houses.

The wealth was obtained in just a year after becoming an affiliate. Doni's wealth was also obtained from the defeat of the Quotex members. Doni gets a share of 80 percent.

"That is, if the trader loses, 80 percent of the profit will go to the DS. The rest goes to the organizers. If the trader wins, the DS gains 20 percent," said the Director of Cyber Crimes at the National Police, Brigadier General Asep Edi Suheri.
