\JAKARTA - PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya president director Pamrihadi Wiraryo said the DKI Provincial Government would hold a cheap market in every kelurahan and dozens of outlets belonging to the DKI Provincial Government.

This cheap market was opened to control the need for food supplies ahead of the month of Ramadan. This low-cost market will be organized by three BUMDs, namely Food Station, Perumda Pasar Jaya, and Perumda Dharma Jaya.

"Ahead of Ramadan, the DKI Provincial Government will hold a low-cost market program at 92 outlet locations and urban villages alternately starting from March 21 to a week after Eid al-Fitr," Pamrihadi told reporters, Monday, March 21.

However, Pamrihadi admitted that the DKI Provincial Government would not sell cooking oil in the low-cost market activity. The foods sold include FS Long Gren rice, Ramos rice, FS Melati rice, domestic chicken eggs, UHT milk, FS white crystal sugar, frozen chicken meat, and frozen beef.

In this case, the market operation plan to sell cooking oil at a low price was canceled. The reason is that the Ministry of Trade has revoked the highest retail price (HET) for packaged cooking oil and handed it over to the market mechanism.

"In the new Trade Minister Regulation it is stated that all department heads do not carry out market operations. The goal is not to cause anxiety," said Pamrihadi.

Moreover, according to him, currently the supply of cooking oil has returned to circulation in the community. Stock conditions seem to have stabilized and are full on store shelves in both traditional markets and supermarkets.

"Oil can be obtained in hypermarkets and supermarkets. So, in the end, there is no market operation," he added.
