JAKARTA - The coordinator of KontraS who is a suspect in the alleged defamation case of Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Fatia Maulidiyanti, teased President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to take care of his staff so as not to criminalize activists who often criticize Papua issues.

This sentiment, according to Fatia, is due to the fact that many activists have been policed when they have spoken out against the policies issued regarding Papua.

"The President should highlight this phenomenon and not be busy criminalizing activists," Fatia told reporters, Monday, March 21.

As the country's leader, said Fatia, Jokowi should think of ways to stop the conflict in Papua. Thus, the people of Papua are peaceful and prosperous.

"But busy dealing with Papua so that Papua does not continue to conflict," he said.

Fatia also asked Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan to withdraw his report. Then, they competed with each other regarding the alleged mining business which was one of the problems in the alleged defamation case.

"Actually, it would be a gentleman, if for example Pak Luhut withdraws his report and stops the case and opens the facts to show that he is not proven," said Fatia.
