Haris Azhar Becomes A Defamation Suspect, Rizal Ramli Sindir Luhut Pandjaitan Forgets Gus Dur's Teachings

MEDAN - Polda Metro Jaya has named the Director of Lokataru, Haris Azhar as a suspect in the alleged defamation case with the reporter for the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Pandjaitan.

Regarding the determination of the suspect Haris Azhar, Rizal Raml also commented, According to him, Luhut Pandjaitan forgot Gus Dur's teachings.

"I don't think it's funny, Luhut was on Gus Dur's team with us. Me, Mahfud, Luhut," said Rizal Ramli in Medan, Monday, March 21.

Rizal explained that Gus Dur always taught about democratization and justice. Currently, he thinks Luhut has forgotten him.

"One of Gus Dur's teachings is about democratization, his teachings are about justice and good governance. Luhut Pandjaitan has forgotten all three of Gus Dur's teachings," he said.

According to him, if what Haris Azhar said was a hoax, Luhut could argue with it and there is no need to report it to the police

"But the hoax about big data is no longer a hoax, it's a big lie. It should be subject to even greater legal sanctions, deceiving all Indonesian people using data to justify anti-constitutional actions that betray the constitution," he explained.

Previously reported, Polda Metro Jaya denied Haris Azhar's allegations regarding the handling and determination of suspects in the alleged defamation case against Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan that had political elements.

The team from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya works according to legal facts. Moreover, the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) has also become the basis for investigations and investigations.

"I think it's like this if these investigators work based on legal facts. We've never seen other factors, especially what they say is political and so on," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Monday, March 21.

Zulpan also mentioned the handling of this case which took a long time. It takes about 5 months for investigators to identify the suspect.

This also refutes Haris' statement that the handling of the case seems to be a priority.

"If we look at the application of the suspect, it is not rushed. The time for determining the suspect is almost 5 months, so it is long enough for investigators to study this case," he said.

In fact, investigators have also attempted to mediate in resolving cases. It's just that the reported party and the complainant often do not attend the restorative justice effort.

"Investigators actually prioritize restorative justice to open up space for mediation," said Zulpan.

Haris Azhar said that the handling and determination of the alleged defamation case against Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan was political.

Haris made the statement before undergoing the initial examination with the status of a suspect.

Haris also considers this a form of silence in criticizing. This is called showing there is a discriminatory law.

"This is an attempt to silence me, to silence civil society and at the same time it shows that there is discrimination in law enforcement," said Haris.
