North Sumatra's UPT BP2MI, which received a report of an accident on the CPMI transport ship, then forwarded the information to the Tanjungbalai Asahan SAR Post.
"From the information received, as many as 87 people were found safe, including 10 from NTB, while two people were declared dead," said Abri Danar.
Currently, he said, the survivors were at the Asahan Police Resort to be recorded and questioned, while the two CPMI bodies were taken to the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr Tengku Mansyur Tanjungbalai.
