Floods, Clean Water Supply In 3 Districts Of Gorontalo City Temporarily Stopped

GORONTALO - A number of areas in Gorontalo City and Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province, were hit by floods. This disrupts the provision of clean water for residents.

Public Relations of PDAM Gorontalo City, Deddy Kiaidemak, said that the Bulotadaa Water Treatment Plant (IPA) in Sipatana District, Gorontalo City, could not be operated for the time being. This is because the Bulotadaa IPA was flooded.

"For the time being, the Bulotadaa IPA is not operating due to flooding, so the water supply to customers will also automatically stop," he said, as reported by Antara.

He said the supply of clean water for PDAM Gorontalo City customers in Sipatana District, North City District, Central City District, and parts of Dungingi District has temporarily stopped.

According to him, the PDAM will only be able to return to distributing clean water to residents' settlements in these sub-districts after the flood recedes and the water treatment plant can be re-enabled.

"Everything depends on the flood or overflow of the Bulango River (in Bone Bolango Regency). Usually when the river water recedes, the flood here also recedes and we will operate the installation again," he said.

Heavy rains have caused flooding in Gorontalo City and Bone Bolango Regency in recent days. Residents' houses, roads, and public facilities were inundated due to the floods that occurred in the two areas.

Floods also hit parts of the North Gorontalo Regency, causing residents' settlements to be flooded in Kwandang and Tomilito Districts.
