JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Martin Chungong called the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani as one of the symbols of women's leadership in world forums.

"Automatically the Chairman of the DPR RI will lead the entire trial as president of the assembly and of course we hope that through the IPU, Indonesia can lead the achievement of all adopted resolutions to solve global problems," explained Puan.

He explained that his role as chairman of the session put Indonesia in a strategic position.

"IPU in Bali is of course very strategic because as the host, Indonesia can play an active role in discussing and proposing solutions to global problems," said Puan.
