Udayana Street Every Sunday There Is A Shocked Market, Mataram City Government Sterilizes The Mandalika MotoGP Spectator Line

JAKARTA - The Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara, will sterilize along Jalan Udayana to secure the main route for the MotoGP spectator buses from the former Selaparang Airport to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit area.

"If it is not sterilized, Udayana Street can become a traffic-prone area, especially in the morning," said Head of Mataram City Transportation Agency, M Saleh, Saturday, March 19.

The reason is, every Sunday starting at 06.00 WITA-09.00 WITA, Jalan Udayana becomes a free motorized area (café free day) and is used by the community to exercise while having recreation and interacting.

In addition, Jalan Udayana is filled with weekly traders selling various types of merchandise ranging from culinary, clothes, fruit, vegetables and others.

"It is the presence of these traders that we are concerned about triggering the congestion of the MotoGP buses, so specifically for Sunday, traders are asked not to sell," he said as quoted by Antara.

To ensure this, the Transportation Agency has coordinated with the Environment Agency (DLH) to eliminate special CFD activities on Sunday, March 20.

"The goal is to keep Udayana Street sterile so that there will be no traffic jams and can create a sense of security and comfort for guests who will go to the Mandalika Circuit area," he said.

Furthermore, Saleh said, to secure the lane for MotoGP spectators who came from the West Lombok, North Lombok and Mataram areas and used buses prepared at the former Selaparang Airport, several scenarios had been prepared.

The road security scenario carried out by the Mataram Transportation Agency includes setting green traffic signs for longer than the usual duration.

"Every time a MotoGP audience bus passes at a red light, our officers will adjust the duration of the green light longer until the bus group passes at once," he said.

In addition, an escort is carried out so that the MotoGP audience bus group does not get stuck in traffic according to the predetermined path.

"We are escorting the bus from the former Selaparang Airport to the Tembolak Gate, which is the entrance or area boundary for Mataram City," he said.
