JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) said it would participate in monitoring the availability of supply and smooth distribution of subsidized cooking oil in the market to respond to public unrest due to the issue of scarcity and rising cooking oil prices.

"KSP will definitely participate in monitoring and ensuring that this new policy can run effectively so that the availability of cooking oil in the community is met at an affordable price, especially for bulk cooking oil," said KSP Main Expert, Bustanul Arifin, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 19.

He appealed to the public not to worry because the availability of cooking oil supplies for the community is a major concern of the government.

For information, the public can now get bulk cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000/liter because the government has implemented a subsidy policy since March 16, 2022.

The government, he said, would continue to try to adjust the selling price of cooking oil, both bulk and packaged, to the people's purchasing power.

KSP emphasized that the government will take firm action against those who hold back supplies, resulting in leakage of bulk cooking oil subsidies. This, he said, was done to ensure that the cooking oil subsidy was targeted and effective.
