HET Revoked Cooking Oil Price In Jember IDR 25,000 Per Liter

JEMBER - The price of packaged cooking oil in Jember Regency, East Java soared to Rp. 25,000 per liter after the government revoked the highest retail price (HET) of Rp. 14,000 per liter since March 16, 2022. no longer regulates the HET for these commodities," said Head of the Jember Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag) Bambang Saputro in the local district, Saturday, March 19. Previously, the Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade issued Circular Letter No. 9 of 2022 concerning Relaxation of the Application of Palm Cooking Oil Prices Simple Packaging and Premium Packaging. "The price of packaged cooking oil has indeed increased by more than Rp. 20,000 per liter, but for bulk cooking oil it is still at a HET of Rp. 14,000," he said. He explained that his party was trying to coordinate with oil distributors in Jember so that the stock of these commodities is safe until Eid later, but related to prices, they will adjust to an existing market mechanism.

"We continue to monitor the availability and prices of cooking oil in the market, especially ahead of Ramadan and Eid," he said, quoted by Antara. With this policy, he continued, the highest retail price for packaged cooking oil at Rp. 14,000 has been revoked and left to the market mechanism. "For us, price changes will certainly adjust the purchase price of each cooking oil product. In the near future, after we get a supply of goods at a new purchase price, we will adjust the selling price at the store," he said. On field observations, many housewives complained about the sudden increase in cooking oil prices because there was a shortage of cooking oil.
