Police Arrest 19 Perpetrators Of Beatings At Tuak Stalls Until Victims Died In Batu Coal, North Sumatra

MEDAN - The Coal Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team, North Sumatra, arrested 19 perpetrators of the persecution that resulted in the death of a man named M Nizar (40). In addition to killing, the perpetrators also abused another victim named M Azhari until he was seriously injured.

All the suspects arrested were KJS (23), NN (36), SS (24), JS (32), BH (30), RFBB (21), HM (26), ACN (28), AS (30), AW (25). Then MIS alias I (26) BVBB alias B (26), DMO alias M (31), DBBB alias D (19), DS (27), VES (24), MBB (32), PS (55) and YAS ( 23).

The Head of Criminal Investigation at the Batu Bara Police, AKP Fery Kusnadi, explained that the abuse took place on Sunday, March 6, at a wine stall located in Sabar Titi Payung Hamlet, Pakam Raya Village, Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra.

AKP Fery explained that the incident began when the victim, M Nizar, was sitting in a wine stall and was picked up by 2 men with the initials NN and SS. The victim, brought by the two men to the palm wine belonging to Boru Regar.

"There they were interrogated and all kinds of things, a dispute occurred. Then the KJS interfered and a 3 on 1 fight broke out," explained AKP Fery, Friday, March 18.

When the perpetrators and victims fight, there are people who say that the police will come. At that moment, the fighting stopped.

"Then (the victim) was taken to the tuak lapo, Ibu Monza. So there she (the victim) called her brother because he was beaten. So his brother came to ask what happened," he said.

However, the suspect KJS also contacted his colleagues. Not long after, fellow perpetrators came in groups and made the persecution happen again.

"So 15-20 minutes later, the persecution took place again," he said.

As a result of the persecution, the victim was taken to the nearest clinic for help. But by the doctor, the victim was declared dead, Monday, March 7, morning.

"Meanwhile, another victim named M Azhari was seriously injured. But his life could be saved," he said.

AKP Fery said the police who knew about this immediately hunted down the perpetrators. Finally, one by one the perpetrators were arrested from different locations.

"The disputed issue may initially hurt. There is talk that should not be said and clarified so that a fight occurs," he explained.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 338 subsidiary 170 paragraph (2) to 2e and 3e of the Criminal Code.

"With the threat of a maximum prison sentence of 15 years in prison," he said.
