Ambon Village, Paradise For Drug Addicts Scrambled By Cengkareng Police

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya together with Polsek Cengkareng raided the Permata Kedaung Kali Angke Complex or Kampung Ambon, West Jakarta. As a result of these raids, the police have arrested several suspected dealers along with shabu ready for distribution.

"From the results of the operation, we have arrested 7 people suspected of being drug dealers or dealers," said Cengkareng Police Chief Commissioner Ardie Demastyo when confirmed by VOI, Friday, March 18, morning.

The police chief explained that in the raid, his party was assisted by Brimob personnel from the Polda Metro Jaya. The raid was a follow-up to the sterilization of drugs in Ambon Village according to the direction of the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General M. Fadil Imran through the West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Ady Wibowo.

"We are taking steps to change the stigma of Kampong Ambon as a paradise for drug addicts. Thank God, apart from securing the dealers or dealers, we have also secured a package of shabu-type drug clips ready to be circulated with a gross weight of 0.40 grams," he explained.

In addition to narcotics evidence, the police also confiscated cell phone evidence containing conversations about drug transactions

"We also carried out a raid in a boarding house and again secured 1 empty plastic clip bag, a meth suction device, 3 digital scales and a spear and a knife," he said.

Currently, 7 perpetrators are still being developed further. They were charged with Article 114 sub 112 UURI No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

Previously, the Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran asked his staff to clean up Kampung Ambon, Cengkareng. The settlement is known as a hotbed for drug trafficking.

"I also ask the Cengkareng Police Chief to clean up Kampung Ambon," Fadil said on Instagram @Kapoldametrojaya, quoted by VOI, on Wednesday, March 16.

Drug eradication is an important thing to do. The reason is, drugs can damage the whole society, including the younger generation.

Inspector General Fadil also asked the ranks to continue to eradicate drugs in all jurisdictions of the Polda Metro Jaya. So, no more drug villages appear.
