Airlangga Hartarto Targets Yogyakarta To Become Golkar's Voice Barn

YOGYAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, sincerely hopes that the Yogyakarta Special Region Province can become a ballot box in the upcoming 2024 General Election.

This high target is based on the evaluation that so far the Golkar Party has never won the election vote in the region. Therefore, Airlangga felt that the ranks of the Golkar Party management and cadres were to calculate the potential votes that could be maximized from the constituents in Yogyakarta.

"I don't know what number (the Golkar Party will be in) should count. That's why I came to Jogja to ask, what number are you ready for?" challenged Airlangga, in front of the cadres who attended the Special Family Gathering of the DIY Golkar Party, in Jogja, Thursday, March 17.

Answering the challenge, all cadres answered in unison, "Number one!" they shouted.

According to Airlangga, now is the right opportunity for his party to rise up and win the election contestation in Jogja. Airlangga said the party's victory in the area nicknamed the Student City was very important as a capital for further struggles at the national level.

"Jogja is a miniature of the diversity that Indonesia has. Many national leaders came from or received education in Yogyakarta. Even President Joko Widodo studied in Yogyakarta. That's why it is very important for Golkar to win in this place," said Airlangga.

Therefore, in order to smooth out this ambition, Airlangga asked Golkar Party legislators from Yogyakarta at all levels to spearhead the victory. They only have one task, namely socializing party programs and socializing presidential candidates from Golkar to win the 2024 General Election.

“Those present here are the cornerstones of Golkar's victory. If the spearhead means that you have to be ready to fight, "said Airlangga.
