KENDARI - The Health Office of Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi, stated that 5,225 residents in the area had to re-vaccinate the first dose because the second dose had not been vaccinated after the deadline.

The head of the Kendari Health Office, Rahminingrum, said that thousands of residents had already vaccinated the first dose, but had not vaccinated the second dose for more than six months.

"Because six months have passed, it is considered a DO (drop out). So the second dose will be considered as the first dose again. The total is 5,225 people. Anyway, the rules regarding DO already exist and must be implemented," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 17.

The government through the Circular Letter of the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health has issued a regulation, which stipulates that if one dose is more than six months apart, then the second dose is considered drop out and is calculated back to the first dose.

However, Rahminingrum explained that in an application, the application of drop out on community data that was late for vaccines had not been fully implemented.

He explained that the data is based on the calculation of the P-care application. However, this figure has not been recorded in its entirety because the application has not been able to automatically delete the data for the first dose that has passed six months.

In addition, said Rahminingrum, Kendari City also serves the community to vaccinate from other districts/cities, so according to him the data could be more.

"It could be more than that, meaning that people in other regencies and cities who have vaccine doses 1 or 2 here can apply. But later the application will be automatic, it's just that now the application has not removed all the DOs," he said.

He appealed to the people of Kendari City, both those who had dropped out and those who had not, to immediately vaccinate to form group immunity from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"To all the people of Kendari City, both those who have dropped out and those who have not, let's flock to protect ourselves, the community, family and relatives by vaccination," said Rahminingrum.
