MATARAM - The Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province has provided leeway for fast food businesses to operate until 24.00 WITA during the grand MotoGP event.

"Previously, business actors were allowed to open until 22.00 WITA, but during the MotoGP 18-20 March 2022, they were allowed to open until 24.00 WITA," said Mataram Mayor H Mohan Roliskana in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, March 17.

The additional curfew policy is intended to make it easier for MotoGP guests, especially those in Mataram City, to get food.

"Against this policy, we have summoned the management of hotel and restaurant businesses, including mall management, so that they can prepare themselves," he said.

Even to improve services, the Mataram City Government also held a local culinary festival along Jalan Flamboyan or next to Sangkareang Park.

The culinary festival will involve traditional food businesses, such as Sate Rembiga, Sate Bulayak, Sate Tanjung, Pelecing, Ayam Taliwang and others.

"The MotoGP event has an impact on the movement of the community's economy and hopefully this will be a momentum to get back up in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this opportunity must be utilized as well as possible," he said.

On the other hand, the mayor also asked the Department of Transportation to optimally monitor traffic in order to avoid congestion.

"Public street lights (PJU) must also be ensured that all work and that no one dies," he said.
