Head of the West Papua Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Pol Adam Erwindi, said that according to the direction of the Regional Police Chief Inspector General Tornagogo Sihombing, the West Papua Regional Police's food task force had coordinated with government technical agencies to jointly carry out surveillance.

"The West Papua Police together with the Regional Police have moved to help the government prevent the hoarding of cooking oil. This is in accordance with the direction of the National Police Chief, which is followed up by the West Papua Police Chief," said Adam Erwindi in Manokwari, Wednesday, March 16.

He said that the West Papua Regional Police had opened a quick complaint service to receive public complaints if they found hoarding or cooking oil prices that were out of control.

"The people of West Papua can report to the West Papua Police's quick complaint service at number 110 or report to the nearest police post if they find hoarding or selling of cooking oil at an unreasonable price than the normal price," said Adam Erwindi, quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, the Manokwari Police Chief, AKBP Parisian, Herman Gultom, stated that the stock of cooking oil in the Manokwari Police jurisdiction was still relatively safe.

"There is no shortage. There have been no reports regarding the hoarding of cooking oil, but we continue to monitor the field," said Manokwari Police Chief.

He said the Manokwari Police food team would conduct regular operations at shopping centers to anticipate the practice of hoarding cooking oil ahead of Ramadan and Easter holidays.
