BANYUWANGI - Police in Situbondo, East Java arrested a gang of gangsters who were troubling the community. Two perpetrators were arrested.

The two are young men with the initials AFR (20) and ZIH (18). Head of Public Relations of the Situbondo Police, Iptu Achmad Sutrisno, said that the arrests of the two began with the burglary incident on the Talkandang Village Road, City District, Situbondo, Monday, March 14 in the morning.

The victim of the robbery is Marsudi (34) a resident of Kilensari, Panarukan.

"While traveling in a quiet condition, the two perpetrators asked the victim to stop her valuables," said Sutrisno, Wednesday, March 16.

The victim did not pay attention at that time and continued to drive his vehicle. The two perpetrators were furious and pushed the victim to the ground.

"When the victim fell, the perpetrators forcibly took the victim's bag containing IDR 3 million and a cellphone. Both of them cut the strap of the victim's bag using a machete brought by the perpetrator," he said.

The victim reported the case to the police. The police moved quickly with an investigation. As a result, it didn't take long for the two suspects to be arrested.

"It didn't take long, members managed to catch the two perpetrators in their respective homes," said Sutrisno.

In addition to securing the perpetrators, continued Iptu Sutrisno, officers also managed to confiscate a number of evidences. Among them are machetes, cellphones and jackets used by the perpetrators when carrying out their actions.

"The perpetrator and the evidence have been secured, the two perpetrators are still undergoing examination in the investigator room of the Situbondo Police Satreskrim," concluded Sutrisno.
