Social Minister Risma Is Familiar With Tribe Children In Jambi When Inaugurating Community Center, Willing To Be A Teacher

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini or Risma inaugurated the Community Center for the Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD) in Sungai Terab, Jelutih Village, Bathin District, Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province today.

The Community Center also functions to improve the quality of life and the quality of SAD's human resources so that they can catch up. Including their access to basic needs.

"Here, a study room, books, study equipment, internet, television and so on are prepared. SAD children can increase their insight and knowledge. They have the same opportunity to develop as other children," said Social Minister Risma in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, March 16.

The presence of Social Minister Risma received a warm welcome from the SAD community. Risma greeted the children who were learning to read and count by taking their place in the house on stilts. Risma interacted with the children and offered to be a teacher.

Present on the occasion were Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto, Deputy Governor of Jambi Abdullah Sani, Regent of Batanghari MHD Fadhil Arief, and members of the Forkompimda of Batanghari Regency.

Social Minister Risma confirmed that she would continue and increase support for SAD. One of them is strengthening health services.

"I received a report that health workers came every two weeks. I helped with a vehicle so that I could come here once a week," he said.

Not forgetting Social Minister Risma also mentioned SAD women who for traditional reasons were not presented at ceremonial events. Risma promised to teach women from SAD to weave and sew.

The construction of the Community Center is carried out in synergy with the business world, namely with SKK Migas-PetroChina International Jabung through a CSR program with a value of Rp. 199,328,000.

With the support of the APBN, the construction of clean water facilities and communal MCK at two points with a value of Rp. 199,000,000. Then also built supporting facilities such as solar panels, loudspeaker systems, libraries and so on with a value of Rp. 77,894,641.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed assistance through domestic grants for 132 families in the form of additional packages of child nutrition, family staples, family equipment, plant seeds, 40-inch TV with a value of Rp. 99,962,000. In addition, Gramedia also provided assistance in the form of 200 copies of educational books.

Previously, during the pandemic, SAD had been given Cash Social Assistance (BST) of Ro300 thousand per month for each KK. Currently, the assistance has shifted to the regular social assistance program in the form of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT).
