JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, visits the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Tuesday, March 15. Puan's presence is for gathering and working together.

Puan added that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of Soekarno's grandfather and mother, Megawati Soekarnoputri. His family has close ties to NU figures. "God willing, it will be my duty to continue the relationship between Bung Karno's extended family and PBNU," said Puan.

"We came here apart from gathering, of course, we want to convey that we cannot build a nation and a country alone. Building the nation must be done in mutual cooperation," explained the PDIP politician.

Puan wants the history of PDIP's closeness with PBNU to be maintained because it has the same vision and mission in an effort to prosper the community. "NU together with PDIP, of course, have the same constituents, namely the underprivileged people. Therefore, we hope that in the future, what are the tasks of PDIP and NU, we can synergize together, we can do it concretely down to the bottom," he explained.

Puan also mentioned the current state of the COVID pandemic in Indonesia. All elements of the nation to unite to help deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We must do this commitment together to make Indonesia prosperous, and concrete in carrying out the things we do," explained the legislator for the Central Java V electoral district.
