BOGOR - Bogor Police, West Java deployed 200 joint officers consisting of the police, TNI and local Trade Service officers to oversee the distribution of packaged and bulk cooking oil to 14 markets in the area.

Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said his team would monitor the market every day to ensure smooth distribution.

The 14 traditional markets in Bogor City consist of Devris Market, Bogor Baru Market, Bogor Plaza Market, Blok A and B Markets Kebon Kembang Bogor (KKB), Blok F and G KKB Markets, Sukasari Market, and Merdeka Market.

Then, Jambu Dua Market, Padasuka Market, Pamoyanan Market, Tanah Baru Market, Taman Kencana Market, General Engineering Market, and Gunung Batu Market.

"Every day this team will monitor the distribution to the buyers according to the rules," said Kombes Susatyo, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 16.

He conveyed that the joint team would ensure that there would be no long queues for buying cooking oil, which could lead to chaos.

The results of his observations at Pasar Baru Bogor prices ranged from Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 16,000 per liter. The stock of packaged cooking oil is indeed rare for traders, but the stock of bulk cooking oil is still quite available.

Susatyo explained that so far the joint team has not found any significant violations by traders or agents. The joint team will function to persuade traders and appeal to them to sell cooking oil at a price that is not excessive and the amount purchased by the public is also not excessive.

"If it's one person, it's a package, that's how it is," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the traders in Pasar Baru Bogor who was successfully interviewed after being questioned by Kombes Pol. Susatyo and Bima Arya named Wati said the cooking oil according to the highest retail price (HET) that he bought on Tuesday (15/3) was still limited to two boxes per purchase at a large store in Pasar Baru Bogor, namely Toko 56.

According to him, purchases at Toko Makmur agents also apply the same thing if you buy directly. Therefore, it is better to buy from big shops in every market, so that traders do not need to buy directly from agents.

Agents also get around so that people don't buy too much by selling cooking oil for Rp. 14,000 per package with one package of vermicelli for Rp. 6,000.

"So those who want to buy cooking oil buy a package for Rp. 20,000," said Wati.

Previously, Head of the Cooperative, MSME, Industry and Trade Service (DiskopUMKMdagin) Ganjar Gunawan, when interviewed after a coordination meeting with Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto and other staff on Tuesday, said that now the authority regarding the issue of cooking oil distribution has become the authority of the police.

"We, the city government can't do anything, because according to the central government, the stock of cooking oil is in excess, a surplus. Regarding distribution, the police are in charge," he said.
