Complete Vaccine Recipients In Indonesia Reach 152.405 Million

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) reported that the number of Indonesian citizens who had received the full dose of the vaccine reached 152.405 million as of Wednesday, March 16 at 12.00 western Indonesia time.

Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta shows that the number of residents who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine today increased by 583,348 to 152,405,191 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recipients of the first dose of vaccine recorded today was 244,613 people. With this addition, the number of recipients of the first dose of vaccination has now become 193,903,477.

The total vaccination for the third dose today increased by 452,312 people to 15,222,442 people.

The government plans to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 million people.

Thus, it is recorded that the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was given to 93.10 percent of the total 208,265,720 residents who were targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination.

Meanwhile, residents who have completed the second dose of vaccination cover 73.18 percent of the total target.

Previously, the Government Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito asked all local governments to increase vaccination coverage in various dose categories, because community immunity is the key to sustaining activities, especially in the economic aspect during the pandemic.

Moreover, he said, in the near future, Indonesia will enter the fasting month period as well as Eid al-Fitr, so local governments must build the foundation of community immunity defense through COVID-19 vaccination.

According to him, if the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine starts to run low, the regional government can directly convey this to the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

"We ask local governments to again increase the coverage of complete and booster doses of vaccination in their regions. Don't hesitate to continue to increase the coverage of booster vaccinations for stronger community protection," he said as quoted by Antara.
