BANDARLAMPUNG - The Task Force for Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) of the Ditreskrimum of the Lampung Police arrested Hospital (29) resident of Banjar Agung, Tulangbawang Barat, which is a suspect in child trafficking.

"Regarding this incident, we suspect that there has been a human trafficking incident as regulated in Article 2 paragraph 1 Juncto Article 17 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons," he said.

Adi added that the method used by the suspect was by providing and presenting women to be employed as commercial sex workers at a rate of Rp. 1.5 million per person.

The suspect in the hospital was able to provide this by communicating with his customers by sending photos of women.

"After the suspect sends a photo and matches it, the woman is sent according to the location agreement," he said.

During the arrest of the suspect, the TPPO Task Force secured evidence in the form of two hotel room keys, a hotel bill in Berliansyah's name, three cellphones, and IDR 3 million in cash.

In this case, the suspect was charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1 Juncto Article 17 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 21 of 2007 with the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of three years and a maximum of 15 years.
