South Kalimantan Police Determines The Suspect's 31,320 Liter Cooking Oil Hoarder

BANJARMASIN - Investigators from the Sub-Directorate of Industry, Trade and Investment (Indagsi) of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police have officially named the owner of the 31,320 liter cooking oil storage warehouse with the initial Z as a suspect.

"The perpetrator was charged with Article 107 in conjunction with Article 29 paragraph 1 of Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade in conjunction with Article 11 paragraph 2 of Presidential Regulation 71 of 2015 with a maximum sentence of 5 years and a fine of Rp. 50 billion," said Head of Public Relations of the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Mochamad Rifa'i in Banjarmasin. , quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 15.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing. The investigation is carried out until all parties involved can be criminally charged.

"This case has attracted attention given the turmoil in the scarcity of cooking oil that has occurred. So it must be investigated thoroughly," said Rifa'i.

Rifa'i said it was possible that there would be additional suspects from the results of the investigation.

"We are waiting for further information from the investigation, this is the Police's commitment to eradicate the illegal practice of hoarding cooking oil which has a huge impact on the community," he said.

Previously, the South Kalimantan Police succeeded in dismantling the storage storage for packaged cooking oil with as many as 16,850 pcs or a total weight of 31,320 liters.

The seven different brands of cooking oil were stored in 1,000 boxes when a team led by Head of Sub-Directorate 1 Indagsi AKBP Leo Martin Pasaribu on orders from the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Suhasto, conducted a search at the warehouse location at Jalan Governor Soebarjo Tatah Layap Village, Banjar Regency on Friday (4 /3).
