JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked people who are aware of the practice of dividing up land plots in the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago to report.

Moreover, at this time the KPK has indeed received a number of information about the distribution practice, as conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Alexander Marwata some time ago.

"We hope that if the public has data and information on suspicions, such as corruption, there are elements of corruption related to land issues, please report it to the KPK," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, March 15.

Ali said various steps could be taken by the public to report suspected corruption crimes to the KPK. Including contacting the 198 call center.

"(Information can, ed) be submitted to the KPK so that we will investigate the data and information later," he said.

In addition, Ali ensured that his party was serious in investigating the alleged distribution of land plots in the new nation's capital. Not only that, investigators will also explore this allegation to the Regent of North Penajam Paser (PPU) Abdul Gafur Mas'ud who is now named a suspect in the alleged bribery of procurement of goods and services as well as permits.

"Incidentally, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is also handling a case related to that, at the outset, we mentioned the suspect AGM as the Regent of PPU, whose detention period was extended," he asserted.

"Of course it will be confirmed there later, it will be investigated related to it (plot distribution, ed)," added Ali.

As previously reported, Alexander Marwata had mentioned the effort to distribute land plots in the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

Alexander revealed this during the Hybrid Integrated Corruption Eradication Coordination Meeting (Rakor) on Wednesday, March 9 at the East Kalimantan Governor's Office. He said he received news from a KPK informant.

"It turns out that not all of the IKN lands are clean and clearing. From our informants, there are already lots of plots divided," Alexander said as quoted from his written statement, Thursday, March 10.

Alexander ensured that the KPK would step in to oversee the development of IKN. Moreover, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked for escorts so that the gap in corruption can be closed.

"Mr. President has asked for an escort from the KPK," he said at the time.
