Accidents Still Frequent, Transjakarta Will School Drivers

JAKARTA - Transjakarta buses still have frequent accidents, even though they have received an audit from the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) at the end of 2021.

Therefore, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that his party would prepare a special school for Transjakarta drivers. This was reported by the President Director of Transjakarta Mochammad Yana Aditya to himself.

"The President Director told me later that a school for drivers will be built. Now, the pilot has a school, the captain also has a school, there is also a machinist, so when you bring a car there will also be a school," said Riza at the DKI DPRD Building, Monday, March 14.

When later these Transjakarta drivers receive training, including about driving safety, it is hoped that the number of Transjakarta bus accidents can be reduced.

"So it's not just learning to get a driver's license and then being free, but in the future there needs to be schools," he said.

Even so, Riza admitted that he did not know when the driving school for Transjakarta drivers would be held. "It's in the process, yes, please ask the Director of Transjakarta for details," he added.

As is known, the Transjakarta accident has happened again recently. In fact, in the past two days, there have been four traffic accidents involving Transjakarta buses.

The accident occurred on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at around 06.10 WIB. In this accident, a female motorcyclist with the initials M was reported to have died.

On the same day, another accident occurred on Jalan Ciledug Raya, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta at around 06.30 WIB. One Transjakarta bus hit the separator, causing fuel to spill onto the road.

Then, another accident occurred on the Simprug Flyover, South Jakarta at around 23.30 WIB. At that time, a Mercedes Benz car went against the flow and was involved in a bullfight with a Transjakarta bus, causing the two vehicles to crash.

Furthermore, at around 08.30 WIB today, a Transjakarta bus hit a scavenger on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, Pancoran, South Jakarta. As a result, the victim died and the bus was damaged.
