BNN Of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Targets Drug Dealers In 20 Villages

MARTAPURA - The East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District National Narcotics Agency (BNNK), South Sumatra, by 2022 targets as many as 20 villages in the region to become a Drug Clean Village (Bersinar).

"This year there are 20 villages in East OKU which are targeted to become Shining Villages", said Head of BNN East OKU Regency, AKBP Efri Tambunan, in Martapura on Monday 14 March.

He said the establishment of the Shining Village was an effort to prevent and eradicate illicit drug trafficking in the East OKU Regency.

The purpose of establishing the Bersinar Village is none other than encouraging efforts to prevent, eradicate, abuse, and illicit drug trafficking (P4GN) down to the lower levels, namely villages and sub-districts by involving government officials and the local community in villages and sub-districts.

In this Village of Bersinar program, he said, prevention activities, community empowerment, and rehabilitation of addicts or drug users were carried out.

In addition, he said, in the field of prevention, the East OKU BNNK carried out several national programs, one of which was the formation of Remaja Teman Sebaya.

This program aims to form a circle of adolescent peers who support each other and have high resilience in preventing drug abuse and other illegal drugs, he explained.

Then there are other programs, such as Anti-Drug Family Resilience, which aims to increase the resilience of families starting from fathers, mothers, and children in fortifying themselves from drug abuse.

"Through this effort, it is hoped that villages in East OKU Regency will be free from drugs", he said, quoted by Antara.
