Garut-Bandung Route That Returns To Normal After Being Closed By A Landslide

GARUT - The Garut Resort Police said that the main route of Garut-Bandung, where there had been a queue of vehicles due to a road closed by landslides in Nagreg, Bandung Regency, West Java, had returned to normal and there were no longer traffic jams from both directions.

"The Garut route to Bandung is back to normal," said Head of the Garut Police Traffic Unit Turjawali Unit Ipda Dartam in Garut, as reported by Antara, Monday, March 14.

He explained that the landslide that closed the main Garut-Bandung road in Nagreg caused a long line of vehicles in the Kadungora area from Garut to Bandung, Sunday, March 13 evening.

Moreover, at that time, he said, it coincided with the weekend holiday season, where there was always an increase in the flow of vehicles so that the lanes became increasingly congested.

"Indeed, there was a queue of vehicles because it coincided with the 'weekend', the lane was back open or normal again at 01.00 WIB in the morning," he said.

He conveyed that the location of the landslide was in the Bandung area, but the impact reached Garut.

The route in the Garut-Bandung border area, he said, is an area prone to landslides during the rainy season, so road users are advised to always be vigilant.

"Yes, indeed on that route it is prone to (landslides)," he said. A road user from Bandung, Ferdi (35) said the route that was previously reported to be covered by landslides has cleared again, traffic flow has also returned to normal.

He said that on the highway it was not only in Nagreg that landslides were seen, but in the Garut area there were also small landslides, however, he was still worried when crossing the road.

"I was passing normally, there were several landslide points but they did not interfere with vehicle traffic," said Ferdi, who was about to go to work in Garut.
