Unite Land And Water In IKN With The Governor Of Indonesia, Jokowi: This Is A Form Of Our Diversity

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with governors throughout Indonesia carried out a procession of land and water unification in the Kilometer Zero Point Area of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan today, Monday, March 14.

The procession was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube. In this activity, President Jokowi was present with a number of ministers such as PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, SOE Minister Erick Thohir, KLHK Minister Siti Nurbaya, and other ministers accompanied by the First Lady, Iriana.

Also present in the middle of the event was the Head of the IKN Authority Agency Bambang Susantono and the Deputy Head of the IKN Authority Agency Dhony Rahajoe. In addition, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, appeared.

Jokowi was seen wearing a white shirt and black pants complete with a mask. The event began with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya followed by a procession of handing over land and water from the governors to President Jokowi.

From the broadcast, it appears that the Governor of DKI Jakarta was the first to be given the opportunity to give Jokowi land and a jug of water. Then, Jokowi poured soil and water into Bejana Nusantara.

After Anies, then it was the turn of the Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah who got a second chance and was continued with other governors, including the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo and the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil.

After the handover and pouring of soil and water to Bejana Nusantara was completed, Jokowi expressed his gratitude when delivering his opening remarks. He said, there are ideals and big work that will begin immediately after the procession.

"Today, Monday, March 14, 2022, we are here together in the context of a big dream and a big job that we will soon start, namely the construction of the Indonesian Capital City," Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show.

Jokowi said the unification of land and water is a symbol of the form of diversity. Moreover, during the casting process, 34 governors from provinces in Indonesia were present along with 15 community leaders from East Kalimantan.

Not only that, the land and water brought by the governors are also special because they are brought from their place of origin and poured into the place that will become the location of the new capital city.

"This is a form of our diversity and the strong unity between us in order to build this Nusantara IKN," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

After pouring the soil and water, now the IKN construction will be carried out. It is hoped that all parties from the central government to the TNI-Polri, as well as local governments, the private sector and the community continue to support the development of the Nusantara IKN.

Thus, the development goals of this capital city can be achieved. "Collaboration between the central government, regional governments, the TNI, Polri, the private sector, and the entire community in supporting the development of this IKN will be very helpful so that what we aspire to can be realized immediately," he said.

"Hopefully, we pray that God's guidance and blessings will give us success and smoothness in building this Nusantara IKN," added Jokowi.

After the land and water unification procession, President Jokowi and the governors continued the event with a tree planting procession. Each governor planted a tree typical of their respective regions.
