Failed To Preempt Tronton Trucks At Kalibata Flyover, Motorcyclist Dies Hitting Road Barrier

JAKARTA - A motorcyclist with the initial A was found dead after being involved in an accident with a tronton truck with police number B 9966 KYT driven by a driver with the initial M at the Kalibata Flyover, Jalan Raya Kalibata, Pancoran District, South Jakarta, Sunday, March 13, early morning.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jamal Alam said the accident occurred at around 00.10 WIB.

The motorcyclist of the Honda Vario with the police number B 4745 TMD with the initials A was found dead at the crime scene (TKP).

"According to witness statements, initially the motorbike driven by A was traveling from west to east on Jalan Raya Kalibata. Right on the Kalibata Flyover, the victim was about to overtake from the right side of the truck but hit the curb," said AKBP Jamal when confirmed by reporters, Sunday, March 13. The police suspect that the victim lacked concentration in driving the motorbike so that it crashed into the sidewalk that divides the road.

Then, he continued, the victim's motorbike swerved to the left and collided with a tronton truck that was traveling from the same direction.

"There was an accident and the victim was seriously injured and died at the scene," he said.

The victim's vehicle was also badly damaged. "The case is still under investigation," he said.
