Airin Becomes Idol Of The DKI Governor Election

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Golkar DPP, Airin Rachmi Diany, has turned out to be an idol for the upcoming 2024 Jakarta governor election. Previously, there was a signal that Airin would be paired by the General Treasurer of Nasdem Ahmad Sahroni.

Now, the Gerindra Party is also eyeing Airin to side with the Chair of the DPD Gerindra DKI Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) in the 2024 Pilkada in Jakarta.

This was stated by the Deputy Chair of the DKI DPRD from the Gerindra Faction who is also the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the DKI Gerindra DPD, Mohamad Taufik.

"It is very possible that Gerindra is pushing Ariza and Airin. Politics doesn't stop today. It's dynamic," Taufik told reporters, Friday, March 11.

Taufik explained the reason why he looked to Airin to be paired with Riza, who is currently still the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta in the DKI political contest. He said, Airin is a female politician who is quite intelligent.

"If you look at it now, female politicians are much more solid. I believe she will be loved later. She is a woman with intelligence, she has a doctoral degree, right. I believe the potential for voters is large," said Taufik.

According to Taufik, the signal shown by Golkar and Nasdem to "match" Airin with Sahroni does not necessarily result in the two running as candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI.

Meanwhile, Taufik said that the chances of the Gerindra and Golkar coalition by pairing Riza and Airin were greater than Nasdem and Golkar who paired Sahroni with Airin.

This can be seen from the number of votes for Gerindra in the DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, which is larger than Nasdem.

"It could be Ariza-Airin, because the threshold must be obtained. The conditions must be obtained. If, for example, Gerindra-Golkar gets it, the seat gets," he added.
