Coordinating Minister For PMK Targets Social Assistance Distribution To Reach 100 Percent By End Of March

MADIUN - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy targets the distribution of social assistance (bansos) to beneficiary families to reach 100 percent by the end of March 2022.

In a series of working visits to Madiun Regency, East Java, Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said that currently the distribution of social assistance in the form of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) nationally has reached 90 percent.

"According to President Joko Widodo's instructions, the distribution of social assistance must be accelerated. For PKH, 90 percent of the distribution achievement is currently in the beneficiary's account, but only 80 percent of those who take the social assistance should be in accordance with the direction of the President, in early March this social assistance already rolling," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir while monitoring the distribution of social assistance in Ngadirejo Village, Wonoasri District, Madiun Regency, as reported by Antara, Friday, March 11.

According to him, the acceleration of the distribution of social assistance needs to be accelerated in order to anticipate the current spikes in food prices and inflation.

"In addition, it also overcomes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic that is still ongoing and also the Russian war with Ukraine which is also having an effect. So, hopefully, this poor family can have a lighter burden with smooth social assistance," he said.

He said the current condition is the best achievement of the distribution of social assistance, which is above 90 percent and is expected to run smoothly according to the target.

Madiun Regent Ahmad Dawami said he was ready to support the smooth distribution of social assistance for beneficiary families in his area.

"Together with the appointed institutions, both Pos Indonesia and banks, we are ready to support the smooth distribution of social assistance in accordance with the direction of the central government," said Regent Ahmad Dawami.

According to data, the distribution of social assistance in Madiun Regency has currently reached 98 percent of the 51,000 targeted beneficiary families.

Meanwhile, in this monitoring activity, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir took the time to visit a number of beneficiary families' homes and hold a dialogue regarding the distribution of social assistance. Residents said they were happy to receive help and were quite helped, especially during the pandemic which was not over yet.

During his working visit to Madiun Regency, in addition to monitoring the distribution of social assistance in Wonoasri District, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir also attended the online dies natalis event as well as the inauguration of UNS campus facilities by the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the PSDKU UNS Campus, Madiun Regency on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Sumbersoko, Pandean, Mejayan District. .

In addition, Coordinating Minister Muhadjir also held a dialogue with stakeholders about accelerating the reduction in child stunting in the Mejayan District, Madiun Regency.
