JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it would explore all information related to the alleged distribution of plots in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, including what was allegedly carried out by the inactive North Penajam Paser Regent (PPU) Abdul Gafur Mas'ud.

Abdul Gafur is a suspect in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as permits. This decision was made after he was caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) some time ago with a number of parties.

"Regarding the plots, I don't know if it's related to the PPU Regent. It's also about distributing plots. But of course, if there is information like that, investigators will investigate it, to anyone," said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata in a press conference broadcast on YouTube. KPK RI, Friday, March 11th.

Alexander said this was done because from the beginning the KPK was asked to oversee the development of the Nusantara IKN from preparation to implementation. In fact, the anti-corruption commission has coordinated with a number of parties, including Bappenas to the Ministry of PUPR and the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

"Regarding the IKN, we were actually asked to take part in overseeing the development program for the nation's capital, starting with its preparation, then during infrastructure development, and we have coordinated with the Minister of National Development Planning some time ago," he explained.

"Yesterday, even when I was in Samarinda, one of the topics discussed and became the focus of Korpsugah for the East Kalimantan region, one of which was related to IKN," added Alexander.

As previously reported, Alexander Marwata had mentioned the effort to distribute land plots in the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

This information was obtained from a KPK informant. However, Alexander revealed this during a hybrid Integrated Corruption Eradication Coordination Meeting (Rakor) on Wednesday, March 9 at the East Kalimantan Governor's Office.

"It turns out that not all of the IKN lands are clean and clearing. From our informants, there are already lots of plots divided," Alexander said as quoted from his written statement, Thursday, March 10.

Alexander ensured that the KPK would step in to oversee the development of IKN. Moreover, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked for escorts so that the gap in corruption can be closed.

"Mr. President has asked for an escort from the KPK," he said at the time.
