JAKARTA - The reckless action of a man stealing cellphones occurred at a warteg around Gembrong Market, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

The theft carried out by a man wearing a helmet and mask was caught on a CCTV camera installed in the corner of the warteg room.

Siti Maysaroh, 33, the owner of the warteg, said that during the action, the perpetrator immediately entered the warteg while still wearing a white helmet.

In fact, based on CCTV footage, it can be seen that the perpetrator carrying a white plastic bag casually passed a number of customers who were eating at the warteg without worrying that his actions would be caught.

In a short time, the perpetrator managed to snatch a cellphone that was lying on the table.

"From CCTV, he came in standing like this, like looking at the first time, looking at his cellphone, covered in plastic, white plastic, immediately came out. It was as if people didn't have that sin," said Siti to reporters, Thursday, March 10, evening.

Siti admitted that she did not know about the theft because she was taking a bath. So did the husband who was fast asleep.

"I don't know, my position is taking a shower, my husband is sleeping. When I lost my cellphone, I woke up my husband," she said.

Meanwhile, on guard at the time, Siti's sister and mother were in the kitchen, so they did not know the conditions in the warteg storefront area when the theft took place.

"He stole it quickly, in about five minutes he ran away," said Siti in surprise.
