JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the suspected terrorist with the initials SU who was killed during the arrest process in Sukoharjo, Central Java, was part of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network. In fact, it had played an important role in the terrorist group.

"SU's involvement is as a member of the JI terrorist organization," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Thursday, March 10.

In addition, based on the mapping and deepening of the Anti-terror Detachment 88, the suspected SU terrorist also briefly occupied an important position in the JI network. For example, an adviser to the emir or a leader at JI.

"The person concerned has also served as a solemn emir, his position is deputy for da'wah and information and the person concerned is the advice of the Amir of JI," said Ramadhan.

Densus 88 Anti-terror was forced to shoot a suspected terrorist with the initials SU during the arrest process. Because, he was considered a danger to public safety because he had hit another vehicle.

This alleged terrorist act that endangered people's lives began during the arrest process. Where, SU, who was driving in a double cabin car at that time, was stopped by officers.

However, SU put up a fight. Instead, he pointed his car at a member of Densus 88, as if he was going to hit him.

"Brother SU fought against the officers aggressively by crashing his car into the officer who was stopping the suspect," said Ramadhan.

Not only that, SU also hit a passing vehicle around the location. For that reason, the officers decided to give a measured, firm shot.

"Due to the situation that could endanger the lives of the officers and the public, the officers made a forced effort by taking decisive and measurable actions by immobilizing the suspect," said Ramadhan.
