JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said that the public currently yearns for the best service from the National Police. He hopes that the institutional transformation led by General Listyo Sigit Prabowo will be able to touch all aspects, from organization, operations, public services, to supervision.

"The Indonesian people certainly want a police unit that is more professional as well as populist, which is reflected in its best services," said the vice president at the Submission of Evaluation Results and Public Service Awards at the Polres/Polresta/Polrestabes/Polresmetro in 2021, in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, 10 March.

Ma'ruf conveyed that the challenges of the National Police in the future will not be easy in line with social dynamics and the advancement of digital technology which is increasingly fast and disruptive. Police officers are also required to be more adaptive, agile, transparent, and professional so that the function of the National Police as a protector of the community can continue to be carried out, he said.

"So that the Police can be a mainstay in protecting, nurturing and serving the community," he explained.

At the event, Ma'ruf Amin also gave directions to the ranks of the National Police as an effort to improve professionalism and service to the community.

He said the National Police must continue to improve the competence of human resources (HR), including increasing digital literacy, in order to support the quality of the Police who are increasingly professional, competent, and with character.

In addition, he also asked the National Police to take advantage of the modernity of digital technology to support strict, fair and humanistic law enforcement, as part of public services.

The National Police must continue to develop and evaluate the quality of digital services, such as the creation of an online Police Record Certificate (SKCK), Precision National Driving Permit (Sinar), and the National Digital One-Stop Single Administration System (SIGNAL).

"The public as friends of the Police have the right to have easy access to services at their fingertips, via mobile phones or other devices," he said.

In his direction, the Vice President stated that the digitization of Polri's public services is expected to be integrated with the public services of other government agencies in one national public service application (Super-Apps).

"In addition, it is also important for the National Police to participate and cooperate with district and city governments in providing services at the Public Service Mall (MPP). MPP is a form of integrated public service in one place, so that access to public services can be easier, faster and easier. cheap," he explained.

Concluding his directive, the Vice President ordered the Police to sharpen their ability to predict the dynamics of society with all its impacts, so that the National Police continue to be good at improving and transforming.

"Finally, understand that public surveillance is now brighter and without limits' because the eyes of the camera and the ears of the public always live to pay attention to the actions of the police, which can easily become viral in the community," said the vice president.
