DENPASAR - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) held a garbage clean-up activity at Kuta Beach, Badung Regency, Bali.

The event was packaged with the theme "Month of Love of the Sea" which was attended by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.

Minister Trenggono said this activity was included in the preparation for the G20 Summit to be held in Bali.

"Clean the sea by keeping the sea blue so that the sky remains blue. Then we convey to all world leaders who will come here, this activity must be carried out intensely to become a signal. The signal we give to them, that they are doing the same thing in country," he said, Thursday, March 10.

According to Trenggono, "Month of Love for the Clean Sea" is a movement that also follows up on Presidential Regulation (Pepres) No. 83.

"This is part of a movement that we can convey to the whole community. Of course, community participation through local governments, both provincial and level two local governments. In particular, along the coastline, of course this is important because our coast or sea is the future. So, we will keep the sea a blue sea, so that the sky also looks blue," added Trenggono.

According to him, when the sea is awake, life will be better. Therefore, it is necessary for all parties to participate in protecting the sea.

"Most importantly, we broadcast it so that the whole world realizes the importance of marine health. That's what I want to convey here, especially since Bali is a tourist area if it becomes very slum, dirty, it will also affect the tourism sector," said Trenggono.

The island of Bali, he continued, must be clean of garbage. Therefore, the community must also be involved in this movement.

"This is part of a national movement called Clean Love Month and we hope that in one month fishermen do not take fish but see the dirty sea. Then take the garbage in the sea that can be collected so that our seas remain clean and healthy," said Trenggono.
