Ganjar Pranowo Sued By Labor To Semarang Administrative Court Regarding Minimum Wage

SEMARANG - Workers who are members of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Union (FSPMI) have sued the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo to the Semarang Administrative Court over the determination of the 2022 minimum wage.

The FSPMI lawsuit, which is part of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) in the Central Java Region regarding the Central Java Governor's Decree Number 561/39 of 2021 concerning the 2022 UMK at the Semarang Administrative Court, has entered the preparatory examination agenda.

Secretary of KSPI Central Java, Aulia Hakim, assessed that the determination of the 2022 minimum wage is very detrimental to workers and laborers.

According to him, the determination of the 2022 minimum wage must be revoked and returned to the wage setting before the enactment of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.

"The Constitutional Court has decided that the Job Creation Act is conditionally unconstitutional and must be amended," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

Based on these conditions, according to him, the Central Java Governor's decision should be annulled and not valid.

In the preparatory examination, the Administrative Court asked the plaintiffs' legal framework for the proposed lawsuit to be corrected and will be re-examined in the examination next week. Previously, it was reported that the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, had set the 2022 UMP at IDR 1,813,011.00.

As for the district/city minimum wage, the Governor sets a minimum additional wage of IDR 63,787.98 for Semarang City, which is the area with the largest minimum wage in Central Java.

Meanwhile, in Banjarnegara Regency as the area with the lowest minimum wage level in Central Java, the minimum wage increase was IDR 40,946.29.
