Confirmation Cases Of COVID-19 In Bantul Increase By 517 People

BANTUL - Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, in the last 24 hours increased by 517 people, after the previous day or Sunday (6/3) there were 371 new cases added.

Based on data from the Bantul COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) in a press statement from the Regency Government, with the addition of daily cases, the total positive cases infected since the beginning of the pandemic to date have accumulated to 69,819 people.

However, today's additional new cases were accompanied by a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bantul who recovered as many as 553 people, bringing the total recovery rate from exposure to the corona virus to 61,101 people.

Reported by Antara, Monday, March 7, there were two confirmed cases of COVID-19 who died today from Sewon District, and one person from Sedayu, bringing the total number of deaths in Bantul to 1,635 people.

Thus, the number of active COVID-19 cases or patients who are still undergoing self-isolation or quarantine at the Bantul integrated hospital and shelter is only 7,080 people, spread across 17 sub-districts in Bantul.

It was stated that the COVID-19 isolation cases were seen from the most domiciles in Banguntapan 1,026 people, followed by Sewon 881 people, then Bantul 721 people, while the sub-district with the lowest number of active cases was Pundong with 40 people.

Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih said that although the current rate of transmission of COVID-19 due to the Omicron variant was increasing, there was no increase in the BOR (Bed Occupancy Rate) or bed occupancy rates at referral hospitals.

"The hospital did not experience a significant spike, nor did the need for oxygen spike, our oxygen supply is sufficient, our inpatient rooms are still adequate, because more than 95 percent (of COVID-19 patients, ed.) are asymptomatic, this is what makes us still confident," he said.

The district government asked the community to jointly break the chain of spread of COVID-19 by implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) and 5M, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
