TANGERANG - A total of 27 people have been named as suspects in the case of motorcycle theft (curanmor) in the Tangerang area that has occurred since February 15, 2022 until now.

The Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Kombes Komarudin, said that the dozens of perpetrators consisted of pickers (executors) and collectors.

"The total that we have been able to secure since last two weeks, there are 27 perpetrators of ranmor ranging from pickers to collectors," said Komarudin to reporters at the Tangerang Metro Police, Monday, March 7.

The disclosure of the case began when the patrol team arrested the two perpetrators on February 15. At that time, said Komarudin, they were looking for targets in the location they were going to.

"The two perpetrators were circling in the Tangerang city area and were stopped by our officers. From the hands of the perpetrators, 2 sets of letter T keys were secured, then 1 machete type weapon, then a toy firearm," he said.

After being secured, officers developed several other theft cases at a number of crime scenes (TKP).

The locations for theft are outside the Tangerang City area, such as South Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and West Jakarta.

"We managed to secure dozens. From there we managed to secure as many as 52 2-wheeled motorized vehicles," he said.

In addition, his party also uncovered the falsification of vehicle registration certificates (STNK). The perpetrator forged the STNK by changing the number using a razor blade, according to the number of the stolen vehicle.

"Based on his confession, he has sold more than 50 fake STNKs with a price range of Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 700 thousand per STNK," he said.
