Purely Free Terrorism Convict From Madiun Prison, JAD Member And Not Yet Pledge Loyalty To The Unitary State Of The Republic Of Indonesia, Head Of Prison: Hopefully It Can Be Accepted By The Citizens

JAKARTA - A convict of a terrorism case (napiter) with the initials WP (37) was declared free after completing his sentence at the Class I Correctional Institution (Lapas) Madiun, East Java.

Acting Class I Kalapas Madiun Ardian Nova Christiawan said the convict was released on Sunday, March 6, 2022, referring to a letter from the Class I Prison in Madiun with a statement of pure release.

"The release of convicts is a common thing. We hope that after being released, the taxpayers can return and be accepted by the community," said Ardian Nova Christiawan, Monday, March 7, quoted from Antara.

According to him, WP is a convict of a sailing terrorism case from the Mako Brimob Prison, Kelapa Dua, Depok. The person concerned has been serving his sentence in Madiun Prison since December 2020.

WP was found guilty of violating Article 15 of RI Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2002 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism in the East Jakarta District Court decision Number 1076/PID.SUS/2019/PN.JKT.TIM.

According to data, former terrorist convict WP is a member of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network. He was sentenced to three years and six months in prison in September 2019.

"WP is declared free after serving a criminal period of 3 years and 6 months with a remission of 7 months," he said.

However, even though he is free to serve his sentence, the Taxpayer is not ready to declare his pledge of allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

Although he has not pledged allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, in general, the personality of the WP during his sentence at the Madiun Prison is quite good. He can take part in coaching programs held at the Class I Prison in Madiun.

His party hopes that the former WP convict will not repeat his actions after being released from his sentence.
