Governor Of Bali Issues SE Rooftop PLTS, Asks Hotels And Restaurants To Install Panels

DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster issued a Circular (SE) for the utilization of Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS) through SE Number 5, 2022.

Governor Koster explained that the consideration for the issuance of the SE was in accordance with the Bali development vision, namely "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali" through a planned universal development pattern towards a new era of Bali.

"The 21st mission, which is to develop Balinese etiquette, organize a clean, green and beautiful area and environment, must be realized through clean energy Bali," said Koster, Monday, March 7.

Koster said that clean energy Bali is organized by utilizing Rooftop PLTS towards an energy-independent Bali with clean energy that needs to be understood, internalized, applied, and implemented in a comprehensive, consistent, sustainable manner in an orderly, disciplined, and full of responsibility by all Balinese people.

"And the use of PLTS Roof is a necessity to maintain the sanctity and harmony of Bali's nature and its contents in order to realize a healthy, quality, and sustainable Balinese life and support Bali as a quality tourism destination in the face of local, national and global developments," he said.

The purpose of the SE is to realize the values of Sad Kerthi's local wisdom as the basis for preserving nature and its contents as well as a clean, green, and beautiful environment for people's lives in the new era of Bali.

Then maintain and preserve the climate by reducing global warming and carbon emissions, as well as conservation and energy efficiency so as to ease the burden of community costs through the use of PLTS Roofs in the Province of Bali.

In addition, it also accelerates the increase in the New Renewable Energy (EBT) mix in Bali Province and opens up business opportunities, investment, and employment in the renewable energy sector, especially in the utilization of Rooftop Solar Power Plants in Bali.

Koster mentioned the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 49 of 2018, concerning the use of the Rooftop PLTS system by consumers of the State Electricity Company (Persero) as amended several times.

Lastly, with the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Number 16, of 2019, regarding the second amendment to the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Number 49, of 2018, concerning the use of the Rooftop PLTS system by consumers of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero).
