Governor Of Bali Instructs Regents To Accelerate Booster Vaccinations

DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster instructed regents/mayors in local areas to accelerate the COVID-19 booster vaccination starting March 5, 2022 to achieve the minimum target of 30 percent within seven days.

"The booster vaccination can be carried out after three months of the second vaccination, there is no need to wait for the six month deadline," said Koster, quoted by Antara, Friday, March 4.

The Governor of Bali conveyed the instruction to follow up on the decision of the coordination meeting held by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Friday (4/2) evening.

A number of points were decided in the coordination meeting, including the implementation of a no-quarantine policy and Visa On Arrival (VOA) services for PPLN starting March 7, 2022.

Then, the implementation of the no-quarantine policy for PPLN only applies through the entrance to Bali, with air and sea travel.

Following up on the coordination meeting decision, Koster also requested that the acceleration of booster vaccination be carried out on a banjar (hamlet) and community-based basis.

"To the Pangdam IX/Udayana and the Bali Police Chief and his staff to play an active role and facilitate the acceleration of booster vaccination to the village level," he said.

Then the tourism component and other communities to play an active role and facilitate the implementation of booster vaccinations.

The same applies to the perbekel (village head), lurah, traditional village council together with Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas and community leaders to mobilize residents to participate in booster vaccinations.

"To increase citizen participation, booster vaccination should be used as a requirement for residents to get services in villages, sub-districts, and traditional villages," said the former member of the DPR for three terms.

Koster also asked the Bali Provincial/City/Regency Health Office together with all puskesmas to carry out accelerated management of booster vaccinations in a systematic, massive, measurable, and scheduled manner to achieve the minimum target of 30 percent in all cities/districts in Bali.

The Provincial Government of Bali is responsible for meeting the availability of vaccines and health workers. "I urge all components of Balinese society to work together to make the acceleration of booster vaccination successful," said Koster.

According to Koster, the achievement and implementation of this commitment is a determining point for the momentum for the recovery of tourism and the Balinese economy.
