Police Confirm That The Body Found Of An Elderly Woman In Gambir Is Not A Victim Of Violence

JAKARTA - Gambir Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Johan Rofi, confirmed that there were no signs of violence from the body of an elderly woman who was found dead on the edge of the West Flood Canal, RT 11/03, Cideng Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

"According to the information from the identification team of the Central Jakarta Police, there were no signs of abuse on the victim's body," said Gambir Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Kompol Johan Rofi when contacted by VOI, Friday, March 4, afternoon.

Although he did not have an identity, the victim's body was estimated to be around 60 years old. The victim has long hair and is white with a green cloth.

"It was evacuated at around 10.10 WIB using the DKI Black Cross car to the RSCM. Two witnesses have been questioned," he said.

Previously, it was reported that an unidentified elderly woman was found dead on the edge of the West Flood Canal River, Jalan Bakti, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 4, morning. The victim is estimated to be 60 years old.

According to Dedi's statement, residents around the location of the incident, the residents discovered the body on Friday morning at around 07.30 WIB.

"The bodies of the old women were wearing cloth near the banana tree bushes beside the river. It had been evacuated since Friday morning," said Dedi to VOI at the location.

When found, the victim was wearing a green cloth.

"The information was washed away by the river from Tanah Abang. Then it got stuck here. Not a resident here, no one knows the grandmother (victim)," said Dedi.
