In Palembang You Can Get Free Cooking Oil, As Long As You Donate Blood First

JAKARTA - The City Government of Palembang, South Sumatra initiated the provision of free packaged cooking oil to every citizen in the city who donated blood through the local Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

"PMI Palembang held a blood donor with free cooking oil as a prize," said Deputy Mayor of Palembang Fitrianti Agustinda while monitoring the PMI blood donation post at Tangga Buntung Market, Palembang, Wednesday, March 2, quoted from Antara.

According to Fitri, in addition to cooking oil, people who donate blood are also given gifts in the form of economic packages of rice, snacks, and free UHT milk.

Through the giving of various prizes, it is hoped that it can attract people to donate blood. "So, it will increase the blood stock at PMI and can meet the supply to help Palembang residents in need," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Trade of Palembang City Raimon Lauri said that his party was working with PMI Palembang to organize a blood donation with a prize of free cooking oil. The blood donation with prizes will be carried out in conjunction with the operation of the cheap cooking oil market which will be carried out for some time to come.

"Per person who donates blood is given two liters of packaged cooking oil for free. The amount is not determined, every person who donates blood during the market operation will get it," he said.

As for operating the cheap cooking oil market, Raimon said, his party and distributors provide 35 tons for seven locations or 5 tons per location.

First, the low-cost market operation began on Thursday (24/2) located in the apartment area of 24 Ilir Village, Bukit Kecil District, Palembang. On Friday (25/2) at Sekip Ujung Market, Tuesday (1/3) at Maskarebet Market.

"Today it will be held at the Tangga Buntung Market. Friday (4/3) at Km 5 Market, Monday (7/3) at Padang Market Tuesday, and Tuesday (8/3) at Market 3/4 Ulu, Seberang Ulu I District. Palembang," he said.

During the market operation, cooking oil is sold for IDR 27 thousand per two liters or IDR 13,500 per liter, including basic necessities in the form of 5 kilograms of rice worth IDR 45 thousand and premium packaged sugar for IDR 12,500 per kilogram from Bulog in sufficient quantities.
