JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah said that her party is currently revising the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2022. This is in accordance with President Joko Widodo's directives regarding the procedures for the requirements and payment of Old Age Security (JHT) which need to be simplified.

Ida emphasized that, in principle, the provisions regarding JHT claims were in accordance with the old rules, even simplified.

"We are currently revising the Permenaker No. 2 of 2022, God willing, it will be completed soon," Ida said in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 2.

As an effort to speed up the revision process, said Ida, the Ministry of Manpower is currently actively absorbing aspirations with trade unions/labor unions. The Ministry of Manpower also intensively coordinates and communicates with relevant ministries/agencies.

"We continue to absorb shared aspirations, and communicate intensively with ministries/agencies," he said.

Ida explained that the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 2 of 2022 has not been effective. So that Permenaker Number 19 of 2015 is still valid today.

This means, explained Ida, workers and laborers who want to claim JHT can use the reference of the previous Minister of Manpower. Including those who have been laid off or resigned.

"I need to reiterate that the old Permenaker is still in effect and is still the basis for fellow workers/laborers to claim JHT. Those who have been laid off or resigned can still claim JHT before retirement age," explained Ida.

Ida added that at this time the Job Loss Guarantee Program or JKP has also come into effect for those who have been laid off. This program has 3 (three) benefits that can be obtained by JKP participants, namely cash benefits, access to job information through the pasker.id website, as well as training for skilling, upskilling and re-skilling.

"Currently there are two employment social security programs to protect workers/laborers who have lost their jobs, namely JHT and JKP. Some workers who have been laid off have already claimed and received cash from the JKP program," concluded Ida Fauziah.
