Police Unveil Role Of Golkar Politician Azis Samual, Order Executors To Gang Up On KNPI Chairman

JAKARTA - Golkar politician Azis Samual has been named a suspect in the case of beating the chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), Haris Pertama. In fact, Azis is said to have acted as the giver of orders.

"His role is that he is suspected of having ordered the executioners to carry out beatings," said Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat, to reporters, Wednesday, March 2.

The disclosure of Azis Samual's role was based on the statements of other suspects and witnesses. Although, during the investigation this Golkar politician always denied being involved in the case.

"But as Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code states that the evidence consists of witness statements, expert records, letter evidence or document instructions and statements of the suspect," said Tubagus.

"Investigators have determined the person concerned as a suspect according to the evidence owned by the investigator at least two pieces of evidence, even 3 or 4 have been pocketed by investigators," he continued.

Golkar politician Azis Samual has been named a suspect in the case of beating the chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), Haris Pertama. The determination of the suspect is based on the results of the examination and the title of the case.

Then, the results of the examination revealed the role of Azis Samual. He is called the giver of the order to gang up on Haris the First.

"His role is that he is suspected of having ordered the executioners to carry out beatings," said Tubagus.

So, in this case, Azis Samual is accused of under Article 55 to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 170 of the Criminal Code. He also faces up to 9 years in prison.

Haris Pertama became the victim of a beating. The perpetrators were said to be several unknown persons, on Monday, February 21.

According to reports, the beating began when Haris was about to eat at the Garuda restaurant, Cikini, Central Jakarta. However, suddenly three unknown people appeared who immediately molested him. As a result of the beating, Haris suffered a wound on his forehead.

In handling this case, the police have arrested four suspects. They had the initials MS, JT, SS, and Irfan.

With four suspects arrested, the police only need to apprehend one more who is still at large. He was named Harvei who acted as the executor.
