LPSK Provides Legal And Physical Protection For Nurhayati, Village Fund Corruption Reporter In Cirebon

JAKARTA - The head of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has decided to protect Nurhayati, a reporter for the village fund corruption case, with the suspect Supriyadi, the former Head of Citemu Village, Cirebon Regency, West Java.

"Protection is provided in the capacity of the person concerned as a reporter and witness," said LPSK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, March 2.

Hasto said the protection programs provided include the fulfillment of procedural rights, legal protection and physical protection for Nurhayati.

"The protected are the parties who have uncovered the case. The protected role is deliberately covered by the BPD in order to provide security to the protected," said Hasto.

He said the person concerned had the right to get protection for revealing a criminal act of corruption. In addition, Nurhayati is also entitled to receive an award as stipulated in Government Regulation Number 43 of 2018.

From the results of the LPSK's review, protected, who was then Citemu Village Treasurer, reported the alleged misuse of village funds to the Chair of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) at the end of 2018, January 20, 2019 and October 2019.

In order to protect the reporting position, the Head of the BPD then reported the alleged corruption to the Cirebon City Police. Furthermore, in submitting the report, the reporter also conveys that he should explore and examine the protection as treasurer.

In the end, protected was then determined as a suspect whose case file had been declared complete (P-21).

However, through an official letter Number: PRINT-01/M.2.29/Ft.1/03/2022 dated 01 March 2022, the Cirebon District Attorney issued a letter of termination of prosecution (SKP2) which stipulates the termination of prosecution of criminal cases on behalf of the suspect Nurhayati.

The termination of the Nurhayati case after the Cirebon Police and Cirebon Kejari investigators carried out phase II (submission of suspects and evidence). Phase II was carried out because Nurhayati's case had been declared P-21.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo stated that the Police and the Prosecutor's Office agreed to stop the alleged corruption case of the Head of Financial Affairs (Kaur) Citemu Nurhayati Village, by issuing SKP2.
