The Translator's Voice Shakes When The Ukrainian President's Emotional Speech In The EU Talks About Defending The Country

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's speech to the European Union parliament was able to shake the courtroom.

The use of every word by Volodymyr Zelenskyy aroused the emotions of the audience so that the official translator of the speech sounded very emotional and tried to hold back tears.

In the footage released by Euronews on Tuesday 1 March, the unnamed translator tries to hold back tears as Zelenskyy vows that the Ukrainian people will not be destroyed by the Russian invasion.

“We are fighting only for our land and for our freedom,” Zelenskyy said through the voice of his English translator, who sounded moved by the speech.

“Nothing will destroy us. We are strong. We are Ukrainian. We have a desire to see our children live. I think this is fair,” said Zelenskyy, who applied for EU membership for Ukraine.

Members of the European Parliament then stood for almost a minute. They applauded and cheered for the President of Ukraine before and after he addressed the emergency session of parliament today.

While making a video speech, Zelenskyy is still holding out in Kyiv fighting with his military forces. He appealed to his people's willingness to fight in an attempt to stop the Russian invasion.

"Please, prove that you are with us. Then life will conquer death," he said.
