Nyepi Day, Ngurah Rai Airport Operations Close 24 Hours

BADUNG - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, will temporarily stop operating for 24 hours on Nyepi Day in Saka 1944.

Operations are closed on Thursday, March 3, at 06.00 WITA, until Friday, March 4 at 06.00 WITA.

"Starting at 06.00 WITA until Friday 06.00 WITA, Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will be operationally closed for 24 hours," said Stakeholder Relations Manager Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali, Taufan Yudhistira, Tuesday, March 1st.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will close operations during the Holy Nyepi Day unless there is an emergency landing flight or an emergency medical evacuation flight. Officers will remain on guard in anticipation of an emergency.

"However, even though I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is closed, there are still officers on standby if there is an emergency flight," he added.

Meanwhile, all lighting will be turned off at I Gusti Ngurah Airport. However, there is for a certain point there is illumination but it is not significant.

"Everything is in a dead condition but indeed at a certain point we remain on standby in the sense that there is light but it is not too significant," he said.

Furthermore, operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, will resume operations on Friday, March 4 morning at 07.00 WITA.

"Of course the airline adjusts, especially the next day of Nyepi then for the first flight on Friday at 7 am," he said.
